The Killian Cougars will challenge the Sunset Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Killian sitting on three straight victories and Sunset on five.
Killian's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over North Broward Prep.

Killian got a great performance from Sebastian Perez as he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched. Perez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Cougars are 7-3 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jonathan Acosta, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Sunset got the win against Downtown Doral on Thursday by a conclusive 9-1.
Angel Lopez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Nicholas Roca was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Donato Martinella, who scored three runs and stole a base.
Sunset always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Sunset pushed their record up to 11-11 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Killian, the victory also got them back to even at 11-11.
Killian skirted past Sunset 11-9 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
