Evergreen extended their losing streak to ten on Monday, dropping them down to 3-12-1. They lost 34-1 to the Sammamish Totems. The Wolverines lost against the Totems in their previous head to head back in April of 2025, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 8-2 score last time.
Evergreen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wilder Amechazurra, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Manase Kamoto also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
As for Sammamish, their record now sits at 8-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Sammamish's side, Max Paguia and Kolin Jaster were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Paguia tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jaster tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sammamish is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-11 otherwise. At bat, Paguia went 3-for-4 with seven RBI, three doubles, and two runs, while Jaster went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs Jaster has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Sammamish got a massive performance out of Reid Baum, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Baum a new career-high. Josh Perez was another key player, getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances with five runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Coming up, Evergreen will take on Interlake at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sammamish does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
