With a playoff game on the line, the Anthony Wayne Generals rose to the challenge on Friday. They breezed by Avon Lake at home to the tune of 59-14. Anthony Wayne might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won eight games by 25 points or more this season.
Grant Kinnee was a one-man wrecking crew for Anthony Wayne as he rushed for 197 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 167 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Winn Sharp, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The win (which was Anthony Wayne's sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Avon Lake, they have yet to win a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 7-5 record.
Anthony Wayne will stay at home for another week and welcome Highland at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Highland is ranked 56th, while Anthony Wayne is ranked 48th). Avon Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
