The Bandys Trojans's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They took down Lincolnton 55-39. This was payback for Bandys, who suffered a 52-29 loss the last time these two teams met.
Bandys had a senior duo take command as Kaylee Cutshaw dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds and Rachel Anderson scored 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Cutshaw pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kate Dutka, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Lincolnton saw an underclassman step up: Curmiya Tillman scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Tillman pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Bandys has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for Lincolnton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.
Bandys will be playing at home against Newton-Conover at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincolnton, they will head out on the road to face off against East Burke at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Burke presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lincolnton in North Carolina (East Burke is ranked 17th, while Lincolnton is ranked 464th).
