It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tallassee had no problem doing just that on Thursday. Everything went their way against the W.S. Neal Eagles as they made off with an 11-1 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Thomas Lemmond made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Brue Milner was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Chase Chumley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Tallassee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.
Tallassee is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for W.S. Neal, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-8.
As of now, neither Tallassee nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
