Baseball Recap: Penfield Takes a Loss

Penfield lost against Hilton on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Patriots took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cadets. The Patriots' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Penfield got a good showing from Dom Denecke, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Denecke has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gabe Reyes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Bianchi, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Penfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Hilton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Penfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-5 loss against Gates Chili on the 8th. As for Hilton, they will take on Webster Schroeder at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cadets are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
