The Davie War Eagles's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 58-47 win over Parkland. For Davie, this counts as revenge for the 77-71 loss Parkland walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Davie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malayka Rankin, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Spaugh, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Fisher, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Justace Williams, who scored seven points along with five assists and five steals.
She wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Parkland were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Davie's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Parkland, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-7 record last season and are now at 4-10.
Davie will head out on the road to challenge Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Glenn has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18. As for Parkland, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Mount Tabor at 6:00 p.m. Mount Tabor knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Parkland likes a good challenge.
