This season hasn't been kind to the Easley Green Wave, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They took a 55-38 bruising from Wade Hampton on Monday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Easley in their matchups with Wade Hampton: they've now lost seven in a row.
Easley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbi Vite, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Vite scored a full 34.2% of Easley's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ava Proctor was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Easley's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Wade Hampton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Easley will be playing in front of their home fans against Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Seneca is ranked 189th, while Easley is ranked 168th). Wade Hampton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mauldin at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Mauldin is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
