The Greenhills Gryphons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cranbrook Kingswood Cranes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
Greenhills unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Thursday. They were outmatched by Richard on the road and fell 47-13. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Greenhills has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Cranbrook Kingswood didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Everest Collegiate on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 40-36 win. The win was all the more spectacular given Cranbrook Kingswood's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while Everest Collegiate is ranked 95th).
Cranbrook Kingswood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madeline Day led the charge by scoring 12 points. Brooke Brown was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Greenhills now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Cranbrook Kingswood, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Greenhills ended up a good deal behind Cranbrook Kingswood in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, losing 27-11. Can Greenhills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
