The Lake View Wild Gators had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They managed a 41-36 win over Lamar. This was payback for Lake View, who suffered a 67-55 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Lake View got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Daniel Ray out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ray has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Umphries, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Lamar still got an impressive performance from NyShaun "Shaun" Quillen, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Quillen continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacari Mitchell, who scored five points along with five steals.
Lake View's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Lamar, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with that loss, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season.
Lake View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lamar, they will be playing at home against Green Sea Floyds at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lamar is facing Green Sea Floyds at the right time seeing as Green Sea Floyds is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
