The Pikesville Panthers will be playing at home against the Eastern Tech Mavericks at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pikesville will be looking to keep their 13-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Pikesville can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Chesapeake, posting a 65-30 victory on the road. Given Pikesville's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Chesapeake is ranked 153rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pikesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mariah Jones-Bey led the charge by scoring 11 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was KA'nai Pyatt, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Eastern Tech's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell 45-37 to Sparrows Point.
Pikesville's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Eastern Tech, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-7 record last season and are now at 4-7.
Everything came up roses for Pikesville against Eastern Tech when the teams last played back in February of 2018 as the team secured a 69-38 victory. Will Pikesville repeat their success, or does Eastern Tech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
