Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Ballard Memorial

Ballard Memorial had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Shelby Valley Wildcats with a sharp 14-7 win. The Bombers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

T Williams was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was M Mathis, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ballard Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.

Ballard Memorial's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Shelby Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ballard Memorial will face off against Graves County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Shelby Valley, they will take on East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
