 At the plate, Milpitas' win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Chloe Cabrera, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 On Scotts Valley's side,  Sofie Seese was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits (and only one walk).
 Milpitas pushed their record up to 18-9 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home. As for Scotts Valley, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 14-7.
 Milpitas will challenge Valley Christian on Tuesday. Valley Christian knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Milpitas likes a good challenge. Scotts Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
