Oakdale has gone 9-1 against Midway recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Oakdale Eagles will welcome the Midway Green Wave at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
Oakdale took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Scott 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Morgan Scott was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs. He has become a key player for Oakdale: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-3 otherwise.
In other batting news, Isaac Collins was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Liam Smith was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Midway). They put the hurt on Sunbright with a sharp 29-11 win on Friday. With that victory, the Green Wave brought their scoring average up to 7.9 runs per game.
Like Oakdale, Midway also got a great game from a two-way player: Rylan Brewer. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Brewer was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Dawson Buckner was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Pepper Willoughby, who scored five runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3.
Midway kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
The win got Oakdale back to even at 3-3. As for Midway, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Oakdale has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .475. However, it's not like Midway struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oakdale took their win against Midway in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1. Does Oakdale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Midway turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
