This season hasn't been kind to the Flathead Braves/Bravettes, who are still winless after their sixth game. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-52 loss to Capital. Flathead has struggled against Capital recently, as their match on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Braves/Bravettes players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Griffin, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyric Ersland, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Flathead were working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Flathead's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Capital, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.
Flathead will stay at home for another game and welcome Big Sky at 7:30 p.m. on January 11th. Capital is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Sentinel at 7:15 p.m. on January 9th. Sentinel is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
