Basketball Recap: Sunset Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Sunset put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 62-45 victory over the South Miami Cobras. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Sunset's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jullien Louis led the charge by shooting 55% from the field on his way to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Brandon Luis, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 19 points and five assists.

Sunset smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Sunset's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for South Miami, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Sunset will be playing at home against MAST Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Miami, they will head out to square off against Somerset College Prepartory Academy South at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cobras will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 70.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
