The First Colonial Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Kempsville Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. First Colonial has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 8.
Last Friday, First Colonial had to suffer through a rough 56-17 loss at the hands of Landstown.
First Colonial's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Rhett McNamara, who picked up 136 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Tyson Moravec who threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kempsville was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 22-21 to Cox. Kempsville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
First Colonial's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Green Run and 5-4 Tallwood (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Kempsville, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
First Colonial was dealt a bruising 57-10 loss at the hands of Kempsville in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can First Colonial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
