The Stamford Black Knights waltzed into their match on Wednesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They snuck past Darien with a 63-59 victory. 63 seems to be a good number for Stamford as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stamford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ejai Presley, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Presley is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Damar Taylor, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Stamford's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Darien, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-6.
Stamford will be playing at home against Staples at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Staples is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Darien, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Joseph focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday.
