 Anthony Lowder made a big impact no matter where he played. He  didn't allow a single  earned run over six innings pitched. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Howe is 2-1 when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 8-13 otherwise. Lowder was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Kendall O'Brien was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-high in  hits (two). Another player making a difference was  Garren Lankford, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Howe moved to 10-14 with that  win, which also ended their nine-game losing streak. As for Leonard, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
