The Edgewood Red Wolves can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They secured a 46-42 W over Odyssey Charter School. That's another feather in the cap for Edgewood, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Edgewood found their leader in underclassman Brayden Wasdin, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Wasdin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Eddie Monterrubio, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Odyssey Charter School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamale Long, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jevenson Antoine, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Edgewood's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Odyssey Charter School, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Edgewood will head out on the road to challenge Melbourne Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Melbourne Central Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Monday. As for Odyssey Charter School, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Nazaret Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th.
