Softball Recap: Cypress Woods Wins Going Away Against Cypress Park

Cypress Woods never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Cypress Park Tigers with a sharp 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Cypress Park's batters probably weren't too happy with Hannah Spencer, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up a single walk).

On the hitting side, Cypress Woods got a massive performance out of Sophia Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, two triples, and two runs. That's the most RBI Wilson has posted since back in March of 2024. Alexia Vazquez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Cypress Woods has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-14-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cypress Park, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the defeat, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Cypress Woods and Cypress Park could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 348th) will meet Bridgeland (ranked 151st) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cypress Park will square off against Waller at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (1041 vs. 461).
