The Panther Valley Panthers will challenge the Pine Grove Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Panther Valley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Red Raiders on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Janessa Prudente made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Panther Valley let Brooklynn Mika and Megan O'Brien run wild. Mika went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple, while O'Brien went 1-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That triple was Mika's first of the season. Morgan O'Brien was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Panther Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Pine Grove and Williams Valley, and Pine Grove kept the tradition alive. The Cardinals put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 9-2 victory on Saturday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Chelcy Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Pine Grove got a big performance out of Hannah Aungst, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Madison Shiffer, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Pine Grove's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Panther Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Both Panther Valley and Pine Grove just can't seem to miss. The Panthers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Pine Grove struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
