The United Faith Christian Academy Falcons had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They snuck past Charlotte Catholic with a 68-62 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
United Faith Christian Academy was led to victory by Isaiah Sutherland and JD Bowden. Sutherland scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Bowden scored 22 points along with seven assists and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Deluca, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Chris Eagan and Eddie David certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Eagan dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, while David scored 23 points along with three steals. David continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. Liam Gates was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
United Faith Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Charlotte Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. United Faith Christian Academy will take on Veritas Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Veritas Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully United Faith Christian Academy likes a good challenge. Charlotte Catholic's road trip will continue as they head out to face Providence at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Providence will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Charlotte Catholic is ranked 72nd).
