The Kendrick Cherokees's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rutland. Kendrick has not had much luck with Rutland recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Kendrick's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Giles, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and seven blocks. Another player making a difference was Omari Barron, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Leading Rutland to victory were Elijah Brooks and Keadon Knight. Brooks scored 15 points, while Knight scored 18 points.
Kendrick's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Rutland, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Jordan the next time they take the court. Rutland will host Jordan at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Kendrick will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
