On Monday, Animo Venice was the victim of a rough 70-45 defeat at the hands of Verbum Dei Jesuit. Animo Venice has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Animo Venice had strong showings from Elliot Smith, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds, and Joshua Maximo, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Smith's eighth in a row with at least ten points.
Animo Venice now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Verbum Dei Jesuit, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Animo Venice won't have much time to rest: their next game is against New Designs Watts at 3:00 p.m. on January 9th. As for Verbum Dei Jesuit, they will stay at home for another game and welcome St. Genevieve at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. St. Genevieve has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 16.
