On Friday, Hialeah came up short against Goleman and fell 41-31.
Goleman found their leader in underclassman Akayla Edwards, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmin Brown, who scored six points along with five steals.
Hialeah dropped their record down to 4-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Goleman, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Hialeah will head out on the road to challenge Archbishop McCarthy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop McCarthy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Goleman, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against American at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (American: 28.8, Goleman: 24.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
