The Curlew Cougars came tearing into Friday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Liberty Bell by a score of 53-40.
Leading Curlew to victory were Annika Baker and Emma Lena Baker. Baker scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Baker dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. The game was Baker's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Theia Grady, who scored 11 points.
Curlew's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Liberty Bell, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Curlew won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mary Walker at 4:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Mary Walker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Curlew is ranked 53rd). As for Liberty Bell, they will be playing at home against Bridgeport at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
