On Friday, Haldane came up short against Keio Academy of N.Y. and fell 3-1.
Haldane was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Keio Academy of N.Y. work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 20-25, 25-18, 25-16.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Saugerties 3-2.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Roosevelt who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 26-24, 18-25, 25-17, 20-25, 16-14.
Haldane's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Roosevelt, their win bumped their record up to 7-4-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Monday's match: Haldane has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Roosevelt struggles in that department as they've been averaging 11 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
