Horizon Honors proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past BASIS Phoenix 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 7th.
Meanwhile, Valley Christian entered their tilt with Leading Edge Academy - GEC on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Spartans.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Valley Christian took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-15, 25-15.
Horizon Honors better keep an eye on Travis Christy. He was instrumental in Valley Christian's win, getting 14 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Christy has posted over his last six games.
Valley Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in three consecutive contests.
