Springdale has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Frazier Commodores at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Springdale was beaten by Clairton 65-17. Springdale has struggled against Clairton recently, as Friday's matchup was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Springdale had strong showings from Chase Weihrauch, who threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns, and Colton Gent, who picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Gent was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 66 yards.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Frazier, who are still winless after their seventh game. Their rough 31-8 loss to Greensburg Central Catholic on Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Frazier can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while Greensburg Central Catholic is ranked 265th).
Despite the defeat, Frazier saw an underclassman step up: Derek Diamond rushed for 138 yards.

Springdale came up short against Frazier in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 25-12. Can Springdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
