After flying high against the Rockwell Christian School Chargers last Friday, the New Manna Christian Wind came back down to earth. New Manna Christian took a 44-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union Grove Christian. New Manna Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Union Grove Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Leading Union Grove Christian to victory were Sara Long and Klaira Cromer. Long dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Cromer scored 21 points along with five steals.
New Manna Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Union Grove Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Manna Christian on the road again on Tuesday and play against Victory Christian at 4:30 p.m. on January 16th. Victory Christian will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Union Grove Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Woodland Baptist Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Woodland Baptist Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Union Grove Christian in North Carolina (Woodland Baptist Christian is ranked 152nd, while Union Grove Christian is ranked 452nd).
