As for Dobie, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.6 runs over those games.
On Dobie's side, Julian Ricks made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Ricks has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ramon Arredondo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
