The University Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Brush Beetdiggers with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. University enjoyed a cozy 30-15 victory over Brush on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as University also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Brevon Doss was his usual excellent self, rushing for 143 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, while also picking up 43 receiving yards. Doss really tore up the turf during one magnificent 71-yard run. Coel Croissant was another key contributor, throwing for 168 yards and two touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.
Several Beetdiggers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ritchie Bruno, who rushed for 148 yards. Bruno hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Hunter Proctor, who picked up 120 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Brush's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Cole Curtis and his two sacks.
University's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.4 points per game. As for Brush, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University will square off against Sterling at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brush, they will head out on the road to face off against Timnath at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Timnath is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
