After flying high against the Kendrick Cherokees last Saturday, the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons came back down to earth. Academy for Classical Education suffered a tough 56-36 defeat at the hands of the Chargers on Tuesday. Academy for Classical Education has struggled against the Chargers recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Academy for Classical Education still got an impressive performance from Sara Rhett Farmer, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Farmer is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Yates, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Academy for Classical Education now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Central, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 18-4.
Academy for Classical Education will head out on the road to square off against the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rutland has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 16. As for Central, they will be playing at home against the Red Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jordan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
