The Tillamook Cheesemakers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They took down Scappoose 46-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tillamook also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cayden Baker, who rushed for 61 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Nowlin, who threw for 270 yards and a touchdown.
Tillamook has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Scappoose, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tillamook will face off against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Tillamook is ranked 29th). As for Scappoose, they will head out on the road to face off against Astoria at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Astoria is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
