Basketball Game Preview: New Life Christian Academy Lions vs. Heritage Christian Patriots

New Life Christian Academy and Heritage Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2021, but not for long. The New Life Christian Academy Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Heritage Christian Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Life Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.9 points per game this season.

On Thursday, New Life Christian Academy humbled Beth Haven Christian with a 97-58 victory. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won five in a row.

It was another big night for Jake Hamilton, who dropped a triple-double with 20 points, 14 boards, and 22 assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last 34 games he's played dating back to last season. Cameron McEarchern was another key player, going 9-for-12 en route to 19 points and five rebounds.

New Life Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 15 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Heritage Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 58-28 defeat at the hands of Belpre Christian Academy.

Heritage Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for New Life Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Everything came up roses for New Life Christian Academy against Heritage Christian in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 63-25 win.
