Greenbrier West is 2-8 against Midland Trail since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Cavaliers will venture away from home to square off against the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. The last three games Greenbrier West has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Things were looking good for Greenbrier West after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of PikeView by a score of 4-3.

Madison Rader was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Jesse Skaggs was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelyn Morris, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.
Greenbrier West's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Midland Trail, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Greenbrier West has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Midland Trail struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Greenbrier West couldn't quite finish off Midland Trail when the teams last played back in March and fell 8-6. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
