The Starr's Mill Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Whitewater Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Starr's Mill has seven straight wins, Whitewater has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, Starr's Mill strolled past North Clayton with points to spare, taking the game 61-43. Given Starr's Mill's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while North Clayton is ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Whitewater was beaten by Trinity Christian 90-22 on Tuesday. Whitewater has not had much luck with Trinity Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Starr's Mill has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Whitewater, they dropped their record down to 2-19 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Starr's Mill against Whitewater when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 68-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Starr's Mill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
