Eight must be Plainview's lucky number: they beat St. Joseph's - Plaucheville with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Hornets beat the Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Plainview, bringing their record up to 14-10. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Joseph's - Plaucheville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Plainview will challenge Starks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.39 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
