After a string of five wins, the Pershing County Mustangs's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 55-32 walloping at the hands of Incline. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Pershing County has suffered against Incline since January 25, 2020.
Pershing County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trenton Rhodes, who scored ten points.
Tommy Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds for Incline. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Incline's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Abbate, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Pershing County's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-11. As for Incline, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Pershing County will head out on the road to challenge Coral Academy of Science - Reno at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Incline, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Silver Stage at 4:30 p.m. Silver Stage is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
