The Bryan Golden Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 61-42 to Elida. While losing is never fun, Bryan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 617th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 121st).
When it comes to explaining why Bryan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gavin Jaessing. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Jase Kepler was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Bryan has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Elida, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bryan will take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elida, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Redskins at 7:30 p.m.
