The Naugatuck Greyhounds will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Seymour Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Naugatuck's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Waterbury Career Academy 80-49. Naugatuck has struggled against Waterbury Career Academy recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, everything went Seymour's way against Ansonia on Thursday as Seymour made off with a 75-50 win.
Indrit Peraj had a dynamite game for Seymour, scoring 28 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. That makes it three consecutive games in which Peraj has scored at least 25% of Seymour's points. Michael Rossetti was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Naugatuck bumped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Seymour, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Naugatuck came up short against Seymour in their previous matchup back in January, falling 54-48. Can Naugatuck avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
