Baseball Recap: Island Coast Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Island Coast had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Cypress Lake on Tuesday. The Gators never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jayven Torres and Jacob Fowler did most of the damage at the plate: Torres scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Fowler scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs Torres has posted since back in February. Logan Hawkins was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base.

Island Coast is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Cypress Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-16.

As of now, neither Island Coast nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
