Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monterey). They put the hurt on the Rayville Hornets with a sharp 22-5 victory on Saturday. Considering the Wolves have won five matches by more than 13 runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Monterey's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rayville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Monterey wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-4 defeat against Family Community Christian on the 8th. As for Rayville, they have also already played their next game, a 15-0 loss against Caldwell Parish on the 8th.
