Mariyon Sloan Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Thursday, Shafter got the W thanks in part to Mariyon Sloan playing the best football he has all season. Sloan rushed for 252 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 61 yards.

Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 2.1 rushing touchdowns per game. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made four total tackles (2.0 for loss).
