Raceland has gone 8-2 against Russell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rams will be playing in front of their home fans against the Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. Raceland will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Raceland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Brown 19-2 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 13 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Russell never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Pike County Central on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Hawks. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Nora Ladd was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Russell got a massive performance out of Bella Hall, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Hall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Frasure, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Russell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Raceland's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Russell, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.
Everything went Raceland's way against Russell in their previous matchup last Thursday, as Raceland made off with a 13-0 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
