The South Aiken Baptist Christian CRUSADERS's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Curtis Baptist 58-2. South Aiken Baptist Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-2.
Curtis Baptist got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maci Butler out in front who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Butler has scored at least 25% of Curtis Baptist's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyla Robinson , who scored eight points along with four steals.
South Aiken Baptist Christian bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Curtis Baptist, their win bumped their record up to 8-5-1.
South Aiken Baptist Christian has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Jefferson Davis Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Curtis Baptist's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wardlaw Academy at 6:15 p.m. on January 11th. Wardlaw Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
