The Kearney Bulldogs have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They blew past Excelsior Springs 62-29 at home on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Kearney, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kearney found their leader in underclassman Brooke Paalhar, who scored ten points along with eight assists and two steals. It was the first time this season that Paalhar posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Taylor, who scored seven points.
Kearney's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Excelsior Springs, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-10.
Kearney will be playing at home against Oak Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kearney has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last six games. As for Excelsior Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Raytown South at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Raytown South will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Excelsior Springs surely won't give up without a fight.
