The Parishville-Hopkinton Panthers will face off against the North Warren Central Cougars on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Parishville-Hopkinton comes in on eight and North Warren Central on six.
Parishville-Hopkinton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Heuvelton Central by a score of 14-11.
Oliver White and Wade Caskinett did most of the damage at the plate: White went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Caskinett went 3-for-6 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Wright, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Parishville-Hopkinton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, North Warren Central made easy work of Lake Placid on Wednesday and carried off a 15-8 victory. Considering the Cougars have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Wyatt Jennings was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up seven earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of North Warren Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5-1 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, North Warren Central got a massive performance out of CJ Barlow, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave Barlow a new career-high. Maceo Matson was another key player, going 3-for-6 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
North Warren Central's win bumped their record up to 13-5-1. As for Parishville-Hopkinton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.
