The Battle Ground Tigers lost against the Mountain View Thunder back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Battle Ground took a serious blow against Mountain View, falling 76-26. While losing is never fun, Battle Ground can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while Mountain View is ranked 24th).
Skylar Fridriksson and Lola Cooper certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Fridriksson scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals, while Cooper scored two points. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Battle Ground struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Mountain View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nina Peterson, who scored 19 points. Peterson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Camaria Brown, who scored 16 points.
Battle Ground's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mountain View, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Battle Ground will take on Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mountain View, they will be playing at home against Kelso at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
